Summary:
Rin and his father are now the target of demons from Hell, and dash towards the church for sanctuary. But despite their best defenses, the dark forces make mince-meat of the safe haven. Just as they believe the demon has finally been exorcised, Rin’s father is possessed by none other than Satan himself, who beckons him to return to Hell to stand by his side as his rightful heir. Rin’s father kills himself in defiance, and Rin unsheathes his birthright sword, irrevocably unleashing the demonic forces within him, banishing Satan from Earth. At his father’s funeral, Rin is confronted by Mephisto, who was ordered to kill Rin, but Rin pleads with him to become an exorcist instead. Surprisingly, Mephisto agrees and takes Rin under his wing.
