How it works

While communicating with any website/server, your data goes through a large number of devices. Although many of these devices are secure, if a hacker can gain access to even one device your data could then be monitored. avast! SecureLine is a VPN – for your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch – that protects you from data theft via a virtual encryption ‘tunnel’. Data is then decoded at the VPN server. And, as data flows through the servers, we can also detect and filter malicious URLs, block ads, or compress your transferred data.

Instant messaging tools were once only to be found in the domain of desktop computers with an internet connection. Now the prevalence of wifi connections and 3G means that the same tools are now viable on mobile devices. There are a number of messaging clients available for iOS and Yahoo!’s offering does little to stand out in an already crowded market.
The app can be used on iPad, iPhone and iPod to conduct text based chats with your contacts, and there is also the option of sharing photos and videos. iPad owners have an app layout optimized for the larger screen to work with, and iPad 2 user can take advantage of voice and video chats.
Users in the USA, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Canada, Pakistan, Kuwait and Thailand can use the app to send free SMSes, but this is a feature that can be found in a number of other far less cluttered apps. Yahoo! Is not known for producing attractive software and the iOS version of Yahoo! Messenger does nothing to break this trend.
Yahoo! Messenger is a perfectly functional instant messaging tool, but it is now started to look at feel dated. While it supports video chat and VoIP, it still feels like an app from the last decade. The ugly, garish interface is unpleasant to look at, and there are plenty of alternative apps that do a far better job in the app store.
